The objectives for this free Summer event - endorsed by Salehurst and Robertsbridge Council - are:

  • It is a one-off opportunity to bring the village together -and for everyone to celebrate 800 years of Robertsbridge

  • It will provide fun and entertainment for all ages

  • It will promote local businesses with the opportunity for them to make money and raise their profiles

  • It will promote our local institutions, clubs and charities, to advertise their activities, and to support them in attracting new members and raising funds

  • It will educate residents and visitors about Robertsbridge and all it has to offer

  • It will showcase the village and, hopefully, attract new businesses and tourists to the Parish.

Who are the Parish Council?

Salehurst and Robertsbridge Parish Council comprises 9 councillors who are elected every 4 years. Councillors are unpaid but have the services of two paid administrative staff (part-time): the Clerk to the Council (22 hours) and Assistant Clerk (15 hours). The Council also employs a Caretaker for the Clappers Recreation Ground play areas, toilets and pavilion (14 hours pw).
